LIGHT A CANDLE   

Lighting a candle is the usual prelude to the magic experience.  The practical reason underlying this is the need to concentrate psychic energy.  Candles were used in religious rites as early as 3000 B.C. and they retained their sacred nature, for it was not until the Middle Ages that the wax candle came into general use as a means of illumination in the household.  Most all occult traditions require that the candle be anointed with an appropriate oil.  Candle Spells are many.  I recommend some of the books I have listed.

The vibration of the candle, depending on the oil used to anoint it, can contact the higher planes.  It can heal, drive off evil influences and light up the road for the right spirit to find you.
